We are advisors, researchers, scientists, library and technology specialists, accountants, educators, designers, counselors, and administrative assistants. We support students and faculty. We write grants, secure funding, and manage complex financial and record-keeping systems. We make sure computers work and networks stay online. We plan events and coordinate scheduling. We craft and refine communications, run the University stores, and welcome countless visitors daily. We advocate for our students, programs, and communities, and play an integral role in campus life.

I support the staff union because staff can be more connected to the University community if they have a voice in the decisions that are made, can give feedback for improvement, and can confidently share thoughts of concern in order to create a better working environment for all. With my extensive background in working with unions, I have seen the impact they can have where staff and administration can collaborate and come to decisions that positively benefit all stakeholders.
